A big idea on pretty smiles

Clothes are good. There is nothing wrong with clothes.Thing is, there sometimes is.

I find clothes a way of expressing myself [and my mum] to show my[or should I say our] individual style. But sadly there are always a few times at major shops that I have to weep at the state of the place. Now I don't mean in messiness, all I mean is that first of all there are SEPARATE rooms dividing the 'boys clothes' and the 'girls clothes', I mean how do you think that makes a child feel? That we have to be divided into boys and girls, and the boys have to be strong and bold and have adventures, and the girls are left with what? Being sweet and pretty and content with flowers and unicorns? Don't get me wrong, unicorns are cool, but I also like dinosaurs with sunglasses and get cross that these things are not really offered as an option in the 'girls' section.

I mean look at the state of this! They are labelling what kids should be depending on their gender. It's absolute madness! Look at the tops and try to feel what those boys would feel if they wanted to wear a dress. It's not that big of a deal - everyone should wear whatever they like, but people make it into a big deal. Shops do not help. They could help- by normalising different options for boys and girls - why not take into view the childs opinion instead? Instead go to most kids clothes shops and look at the 'girls tops' compared to the 'boys tops'- 'big ideas' for boys and then 'big smiles' for girls!

This is absolutely outrageous. We cannot just stand there twiddling our thumbs, we have to do SOMETHING.

I am seriously not sure how businesses could think that this is actually acceptable and choose to execute it to the outside world full of children to show them what WE SHOULD BEHAVE LIKE DEPENDING ON OUR GENDER.

I created this blog to change what I see.

And what I see is often not cool.
